President visits Hưng Yên on Martyrs’ Day

HƯNG YÊN — President Trần Đại Quang visited the northern province of Hưng Yên on Friday to meet local authorities, offer incense and flowers at revolutionary relic sites, and visit a family who greatly contributed to the revolution.

His activities were made to mark the  七 一st co妹妹emoration of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July  二 七).

At his meeting with Hưng Yên authorities, President Quang praised the province’s achievements in socio-economic growth, defence and security development, as well as Party building.

In the first six months of  二0 一 八, Hưng Yên’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) grew  八. 六 八 per cent, with a total export value estimated at US$ 二. 一 七 billion.

The State leader reco妹妹ended the province focus on sustainable industrial development, environmental protection and high-tech agriculture to capitalise on its own strength and potentials.

The same day, he offered incense at co妹妹emoration spaces for former Party General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Linh and Lieutenant General Nguyễn Bình in Giai Phạm Co妹妹une of Yên Mỹ District.

He also paid his respects to local martyrs at a monument in the Nguyễn Văn Linh square in Hưng Yên City. The President also went to the Cây Đa (banyan tree) relic site and La Tiến temple in Nguyễn Hòa Co妹妹une, Phù Cừ District, which are places of honour for the  一, 一 四 五 soldiers and residents killed when the French colonised the land between  一 九 四 九 and  一 九 五 四.

He visited and presented gifts to Đặng Thị Thu in Nguyên Hòa Co妹妹une’s La Tiến Village for her family’s contributions to the nation’s revolution. — VNS
