Nightmare Armor started in a 1,200-square-foot shop off Powderhouse Road with a single CNC mill and one promise: build armor we would put our own families behind.
Founder Mike Rennaver spent eleven years in the 75th Ranger Regiment — three as a platoon sergeant — before he cut his first plate in 2009. Sixteen years later he still personally signs the spec sheet on every new SKU before it goes to the range, and every production run still gets live-fire validation at our 42,000 sq ft facility before it ships.
That is the discipline mass-market armor brands cannot replicate. It is also the reason 117 American workers in Cheyenne still cut, press, and test every plate by hand.

If a Nightmare Armor plate ever fails its NIJ-rated threat profile during its service life — for any reason, on any duty — we replace it. Free. Forever. The customer ships the plate back, we issue a return label within 24 hours, and a new plate leaves our Cheyenne range within 2.3 days on average.
